We hired GCR Builders to remodel our 1937 hall bathroom.
The Owner’s wanted to save some of the historical influences of the bathroom.
Bathroom Remodeler in Galveston, TX. This is
an older Galveston home the Owners wanted to
save some of the historical influences and at the
same time give the bathroom an update.
The challenge was to cut around without
chipping the original tile to save the accent
border trim and the base trim. The results were
spectacular.
The biggest challenge was found in the shower
walls. We discovered a two-inch-thick cement
wall that we carefully cut out and around to save
the border tile trim.
Removing the cement wall gave us more room
to frame the shower pan and install the shower
valve and trim. The bathtub was removed, a
walk-in shower was built, and a beautiful
frameless glass door was installed.
The bathtub was removed and a walk-in shower was built.
Customer Feedback
We hired Scott and his team to remodel our
1937 hall bathroom. Our goal was to retain the
unique, original trim tile, vintage authentic look
& charm, yet simultaneously update from a
traditional bath to a walk-in shower style
bathroom, that would meet our needs. We are
so pleased & thrilled that with Scott’s expertise
and shared vision, we achieved our goal & our
expectations were exceeded. We would not
hesitate to call on Scott to help us with any
future projects going forward.
